Principal's Message

August 1, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians:

I welcome you to Dennis Earl Elementary and another excellent school year.   We have so many great things planned for your student’s educational enrichment. Our teachers have been engaging in continuous professional development in order to provide the highest quality instruction to your students.

We added a new “trike track” to the kindergarten playground this summer.  This is sure to be a big hit with our TK and Kindergarten students for years to come.  We have a new assistant principal this year Dr. Jeff Persons, he comes to us with eleven years of experience in school administration and we are excited to have him joining our school team.

Our site leadership team has spent time creating and refining our school’s mission, vision, collective commitments and school wide goals.  We are keenly focused on ensuring that Earl students are successful and supported in their learning.   Along with your partnership, we will further advance our school of excellence for the development of all Earl students.

‚ÄčI have four core beliefs about education:

  • Student development and achievement is our primary purpose and we must be accountable for ALL students' learning and growth at high levels.
  • Parent Engagement is important and supports and maintains the educational process while setting personal and character development standard for students.
  • Social emotional learning is an important part of the education of students and must be nurtured in addition to a strong academic focus.
  • The Teaching and Learning Environment is the pathway to establish positive school experiences and to motivate students to dream big and work hard for their future.

These beliefs guide my educational decisions and help me set a foundation on which to develop school improvement goals.  Combined with good communication, I have found these beliefs to be of value in supporting a child-centered learning environment.  I welcome all ideas, suggestions, and opportunities to enhance the educational environment and culture in our school.

I believe in an open door policy and I look forward to meeting each of you.  I hope that you will be involved in school events and support our PTA efforts.

It is a privilege to be your Principal at Dennis Earl.  I look forward to a great school year.

Laura Fong, Ed.D., Principal
